DBC Support - License error
License type: WMI
Error code: 604
Description: Need to re-register WMI components
The easiest thing you can do is just reboot your PC.
For licensing purposes, DBC uses WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) to generate an identification key based on a PC's hardware components. Sometimes WMI information becomes inaccessible. This may even be due to corruption on the harddisk.
The information provided below can be used to rebuild the WMI repository.
For the record, DBC is providing this information with no warranty and no guarantee of its behavior. Use this information at your own risk.
Least intrusive solution
Using the net stop and net start commands, you may rebuild the WMI repository. See the link below.

Most intrusive solution
Below is a .bat file to re-register the WMI components. Administrator privileges may be a required to run it. A combination of reboots and re-running the .bat file may be necessary. When it is running, file names will print very fast.
cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i for %i in (*.exe) do %i /RegServer
The code for the .bat file was linked to by Sam Lester, moderator of one of the Microsoft forums. See the link below and scroll down to the Friday, July 07, 2006 5:37 PM entry. Click on the link Re-registering WMI to see the code.
Note: In general, the WMI repository has to be rebuilt. The easiest thing you can do is reboot your PC.
